READERS PROJECT
I received this letter from Jarrett in Lancaster, California and wanted to share it with you.
Jarrett recently completed his Kerfing Plane and came up with a great way to add an adjustable fence.
Thanks for sharing this with us Jarrett- the plane looks amazing!

A Kerfing Plane in California
Tom,
I finished building a maple kerfing plane using the plans in your book as a guide. I made some changes in both the handle and the fence. I wanted the handle to be more like a saw, so I modeled it after a back saw closed handle. I really like how it came out and makes the plane look more like a saw. For the fence I wanted a bridle design, but had trouble finding hardware. So, I improvised and used some hardware store knobs. It will serve my needs for awhile, but I will probably redo the fence sometime in the future.
Once again, I learned a lot doing this project and had a great time doing it. Shaping the handle was challenging.
Looking forward to building the frame saw next.
